Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. I offer a free 30-minute trial lesson so we can meet, discuss your goals and see if we're a good fit. No commitment required!

  • We meet via Zoom. I'll send you after payment is received. That link will be valid until the end of our teaching period. I share materials on screen, and you'll receive homework and other resources afterwards. Written homework can be submitted via email or Google Docs. I also use Google Classroom and other online tools for interactive classes.

  • No worries. As a certified DaF-teacher and experienced telc examiner I offer a language assessment to evaluate your current skills. This helps us find the right starting point and set realistic goals.

  • They serve different purposes. Group courses offer structure, peer interaction and tend to cost less. Private lessons offer flexibility, undivided attention and a pace tailored entirely to you. For exam preparation, busy professionals, or anyone truly aiming to improve their German with precision, private lessons are more efficient. You don’t have to wait for others to catch up or moving on before you're ready. Plus, you will get my undivided attention to improve your German in precision.

  • Twice a week is ideal. From my experience as a professional teacher once a week is to weak to retain the newly acquired information unless you work really diligently in between sessions. Some students go as often as 3-5 times a week. That’s intense, but the results are fast. We'll figure out the right rhythm during our discovery call.

  • Yes. I'm a certified telc examiner from A1 to C2 with lots of experience, and writing assessor with extensive experience preparing students for telc Prüfung, Goethe Zertifikat and fide-Test at all levels. After an assessment, I typically recommend a focused six-lesson package with mock tests and detailed feedback on all components.

  • For exam preparation, yes! PDFs and mock tests are included, no need to buy anything separately.
For general courses, I may recommend a professional textbook after the assessment. The books I use are used in language schools and are also available as interactive e-books.

  • No worries! That's common, and the good news is it comes back faster than you think. Depending on your level, we might have to review some basics in order to avoid automated mistakes but normally those students progress super fast because the good news is that one never unlearns a language.

  • Yes, with 24 hours' notice. We'll agree on a regular time slot and I ask that we stick to it as much as possible, but life happens. Just let me know in advance!

  • You can pause and pick up where you left off within six months of purchase. I don't offer refunds for unused lessons, but if something comes up, please, just talk to me. Please don't ghost or disappear. If there's a solution, there's no problem and if there’s no solution at hand, there’s also no problem anymore. ;-)
