Swiss German Course
Swiss German Lessons that Make You Speak — Finally Understand the Locals in Zürich.
30 conversation lessons in real Zürichdütsch. No book, no homework — just speaking, listening, and the grammar you actually need.
Working in English but living in Swiss German?
Many of my students are international professionals working for well-known companies in Switzerland. Their working life runs entirely in English but daily life in Switzerland does not. They study German diligently, get their C-permit, or even apply for naturalisation and a Swiss passport. Whether it's a parent-teacher meeting at a Zurich school, a conversation with your landlord, understanding a letter from the Gemeinde, or simply feeling less like a guest in the country you call home — that's where Swiss German changes everything.
As expats, we don't just learn a language for fun. In today's globalised world we learn languages for love, for work, or simply to feel more at home in the country we've chosen to settle in. I've been there myself, more than once, and I've worked with dozens of expats in exactly this situation. I understand the specific challenges: limited time, high standards, and the need for lessons that are efficient, flexible, and genuinely relevant to your life outside the office. In short — if this is you — I'd love to work with you.
My teaching experience has shown me that for a student who holds a B2 level in German, 30 lessons are generally enough to speak Swiss German freely — enough, at least, to handle daily life and make friends along the way.

This package is for people who already speak German (minimum requirement B1) but struggle to understand Swiss German. You've done the courses, perhaps passed an exam, but when locals switch to dialect you lose the thread. It's aimed at people living in the region of Zürich / Zug who want to follow everyday conversations — at work, with neighbours, among friends — and speak enough dialect to tackle daily tasks.

We’ll be speaking from the first lesson. Experience has shown that 30 lessons are enough to let you fly with confidence. I speak and teach Zürichdütsch, which is the dialect you'll actually learn.
We build up your listening comprehension so that speech becomes easier to follow, and cover the grammar you need to understand how the dialect works, but no more than that. No textbook, no homework, no memorising lists. Just speaking, producing, and listening.
Swiss German is a spoken language, and is learnt by speaking, so the goal is to make you confident enough to go out into the real world, dare to speak, and make friends because the Swiss locals can be tough nuts to crack. -
I’m a native Swiss and German speaker so I know both languages as spoken languages. I grew up as a Swiss expat in many different countries and cultures, and know how crucial it is to speak the local language in order to integrate well. I'm a certified German teacher and examiner with thousands of hours of one-to-one teaching, and I've taught in Switzerland.
My lessons are built around speaking: using the language in real conversation rather than memorising or filling in worksheets. I know what makes Swiss German correct, and what makes it sound like a local.
